Jesus Christ this is fucking terrible and I am sorry you are ever treated like that.

When we (all of us) politely complained, they said that my other black friend and I were told that the hotel was screening our details and ensuring we were indeed who we were. Were they making background checks? I don’t know, but that extra scrutiny on us and the tone of the manager and his staff was pure racism. Not even our British passports mattered, nor did the fact that we had platinum cards matter.
